Sick of Big Tobacco's lies? Students entering into grades 7-12 in 2010 can join No Limits and LCAD for a one-day activism training in Lincoln, NE! The training will be on Sunday, June 27 from noon till 5:00 p.m. Call LCAD at 475-2694 to register and check out the poster.

LCAD Drug-Free Youth Board

The LCAD Drug-Free Youth Board consists of 15-20 youth from Lancaster County high schools.  Their mission is to promote drug-free lifestyles to Lancaster County youth.  To serve on the youth board, each member submits and application and goes through an interview process.  Activities and events the youth board are involved in but are not limited to are:  New Year’s Eve Bash, FreeFest, Red Ribbon Month activities, Adopt-A-Highway, community involvement, fundraising, and more! Speaker's Bureau

The Speaker’s Bureau gives youth in our community the opportunity for their voices to be heard.  The youth work together on producing presentations for youth and adults.  Various subjects that have been covered include: the tobacco industry and marketing to youth, a visual scan of Lancaster County, an interactive game show called “Are You on Target,” and they continue to develop more.  This is an open group that Lancaster County high school students can be involved in. Drug-Free Youth Groups

Ever wanted to start a group in your school where all the members are drug-free?  Already belong to a drug-free group and you need more ideas?  We can help!  LCAD staff is on hand to assist with planning, group development, and trainings. Contact us for more information.

How Do I Get Involved?

There are many ways to get involved with LCAD Youth Programs.  Throughout the year are events and projects that youth can get involved in.  The LCAD Drug-Free Youth Board applications are available each March for students currently in grades 8-11.  The Speaker’s Bureau meets monthly and those meeting dates and times can be found on the youth calendar page.  For more information, call LCAD at 475-2694 or email prevention@lcad.org
